Man Utd set to extend contracts of quintet

Manchester United are prepared to extend the contracts of five first-team players in the coming weeks.

The Red Devils currently have multiple players in the final year of their contracts with the option to extend for 12 months.

Among those, David de Gea, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Fred and Marcus Rashford are key players that the club want to keep.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are set to extend their stays until June 2024 via their extension clauses.

United don't want any of them to sign pre-contracts in January, and they are expected to trigger their renewals as soon as possible.

Cristiano Ronaldo is another player in the same situation, but there is a possibility that he could be released at some point next year.

Ronaldo has been pushing for a move elsewhere to play Champions League football, and he could leave the club as early as January.

United will be in Europa League action against Sheriff on Thursday.
