Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly is confident of regaining his starting spot under new manager Graham Potter.

Koulibaly has made a mixed start to his Blues career, and he was dropped to the bench for Potter's first game in-charge.

Despite the setback, the centre-back is unperturbed and he is prepared to work hard in training to reclaim his place.

Speaking to Le Quotidien, he said: "He did some good things with Brighton, now he is a Chelsea manager."

"He has guidelines, expectations. It's up to me to be patient, it's up to me to show that I deserve to play, to show in training that the coach can trust me.

"When I will be at 100 percent, there will be no problem, I will play again."

Koulibaly was a superb performer for Napoli for eight years, but decided to pursue a new challenge at Chelsea this summer.

With his vast experience, it was anticipated that he could make an instant impact, but that has hardly been the case so far.

While he has had some moments of brilliance, Koulibaly has struggled to adapt to the added intensity of the Premier League.

He may now need to prove himself in training under Potter before he is reinstated into the starting line-up for future matches.
