Brighton star opens the door for Chelsea transfer
Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard has opened the door to join Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The Belgian has been in superb form for the Seagulls this campaign, registering two goals and two assists in the Premier League.
Amidst this, he has been linked with a possible reunion with manager Graham Potter, who recently left Brighton to take charge at Chelsea.
When pressed on the speculation, Trossard said that the story is pointless, but refused to rule out a transfer if he is assured a starting role.
He said: "Our coach has now left for Chelsea, but speculations about me following him are pointless. If the opportunity arises, I want to go. But I do want to play and not sit on the couch."
Potter is expected to be backed with transfer funds this winter. The manager is likely to pursue players that meet his tactical philosophy.
Trossard is one of those that would suit him. It remains to be seen whether the Blues can convince Brighton into a mid-season deal.
