Chelsea ready to battle Real Madrid for French striker
Chelsea are ready to battle Real Madrid in the race to sign Lille striker Jonathan David, according to Jeunes Footeux.
The west London giants bolstered their strikeforce recently with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's arrival from Barcelona.
The Gabon star has already chipped in with three goals, but the Blues are still keen on pursuing another young centre-forward.
As per Jeunes Footeux, David has now emerged as a top target and the Blues are ready to compete with Madrid for his services.
Los Blancos see the Frenchman as a potential successor to Karim Benzema.
On the other hand, Chelsea could have an edge over Madrid as manager Graham Potter could assure him more game time.
David has been in superb form for Les Dogues this season. He has bagged nine goals and two assists from 11 league games.
He was valued in the region of €45 million last summer, but the French club are now expected to hold out for at least €60m.
