United told to meet Gakpo price tag

Manchester United have been told to pay €50 million to sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo next month.

The Red Devils are huge admirers of the Netherlands star and they were initially keen on landing him last summer.

The huge spending on Antony cooled their interest in Gakpo, but the hierarchy are ready to make a renewed transfer bid.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV are ready to sell him to United in January but it would take around €50 million.

It is added that United may have to pay the majority of the transfer fee when the 23-year-old signs his contract with them.

PSV are quite clear that they won't accept staggered payments for the attacker, who is also wanted by Real Madrid.

United have an excellent chance of signing the Dutchman in January, but they must act fast as PSV need a replacement.

They don't plan to sell their prized asset in the latter stages of the January transfer window and prefer to do business early.
