Arsenal positive about new William Saliba contract
Arsenal are confident of committing defender William Saliba to a new long-term contract, according to The Guardian.
The centre-back joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne three years ago, but had to wait until the current season to make his debut.
He has since been a revelation for the north Londoners. The Frenchman is currently one of the firm favourites among fans.
Saliba recently said that he is really happy with the proceedings at Arsenal and it is now claimed that the club are confident of keeping him.
Negotiations are underway with the Frenchman's representative and the club are positive of finding a breakthrough in the near future.
Saliba's current deal was initially due to expire at the end of the season but Arsenal have triggered a clause to keep him until June 2024.
The hierarchy will be aiming to finalise a new contract before he enters the final year of his deal to avoid interest from rival clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are monitoring him.
