Premier League trio chasing Dario Asorio

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are in the race to sign Chile starlet Dario Osorio from Universidad de Chile in the January transfer window. The talented midfielder has emerged as an important member of his club's squad since 2021, and has now played 20 games, scoring six goals, and subsequently received a call up, and a debut for Chile's national team.

Newcastle United appear to be in pole position to land the midfielder, but Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is pushing his scouting team and board hard to push through a deal for the 6 foot midfielder. Tottenham are also late candidates to snap up Asorio, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the season.

With the club seeking at least $20 million for the player, all three teams will have no problem matching that price, but it is believed Asorio wants to join a team that will guarantee first-team football right away. In that case, Aston Villa are likely his first choice team in the Premier League of the trio all interested.
