Mikel Arteta provides injury update on Thomas Partey after Man City loss
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is unsure over the extent of the injury sustained by midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian star was absent for the 3-1 loss to Manchester City last night and following the game, Arteta was unclear over the setback.
Speaking to reporters, the Spaniard said: "We don’t know. It’s what happens, it’s part of football. I think Jorgi played a good game and we have to assess Tommy to see how bad it is."
In Partey's absence, Jorginho stepped up with a superb performance in the centre of the park. He stood out in the disappointing loss.
The Italy international was considered as a weak link by many Arsenal fans before the game, but it was their defence which let them down.
With the loss, the Gunners have dropped to second in the table behind Manchester City on goal difference, but have a game in hand.
They will be hoping to return to winning ways at Aston Villa, but it won't be an easy challenge for them with Unai Emery's side flying high.
