Man Utd can now sign Atletico star for €40m

Manchester United have the opportunity to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher for €40 million during the January transfer window, according to Spanish outlet AS.

The Red Devils were keen on landing the England international on loan last summer, but a deal did not materialise before the transfer deadline. Atletico had no plans of negotiating a temporary move.

United are still interested in signing the former Chelsea man and reports claim that Atletico could open the door for a permanent transfer in the New Year.

The Spanish giants are open to doing business with any club for Gallagher, but they will want to recoup the €40m spent on his services in the summer of 2024.

United were only exploring a loan switch for Gallagher last summer, and it remains to be seen whether they make a permanent proposal for his services.

Gallagher is said to be assessing his options at the moment. He is no longer a starter for Atletico and needs regular playing time to push for a World Cup berth.
