Mikel Arteta provides injury update on two Arsenal stars

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on two players ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash at Aston Villa.

The Gunners are currently winless in three league games and they will be hoping to make amends in tomorrow's visit of Villa Park.

Ahead of the game, they have received a timely boost with Emile Smith Rowe back in full training following a minor thigh problem.

Speaking to reporters earlier today, Arteta confirmed that the Gunners graduate is likely to be involved in the matchday squad tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Gunners boss added that Thomas Partey will require a late fitness test, having missed the Manchester City game recently.

The Ghanaian missed the midweek outing with a muscle concern and he is expected to be assessed in the lead up to the West Midlands trip.

Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League standings with 51 points, only goal difference behind Manchester City with a game in hand.

They will be hoping to return to winning ways tomorrow.
