Graham Potter backs Mykhaylo Mudryk to shine at Chelsea
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has backed Mykhaylo Mudryk to come good following a period of adaptation with the club.
The Ukrainian joined the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88 million in January and he had a lively debut against Liverpool.
However, he has since played just over 200 minutes in all competitions and has been an unused substitute over the last few games.
Speaking to reporters today, Potter said that the club have huge expectations on Mudryk and he should improve with more training.
The Blues head coach added that the 22-year-old could get his opportunity tomorrow with Raheem Sterling out with a hamstring issue.
He said: "He comes into the equation. He is a player we believe in a lot."
"When he arrived, he was in the middle of a pre-season campaign, so to hit the ground running in the Premier League is not so easy to do."
"But day-by-day, week-by-week he is getting stronger and stronger, so he'll be in the squad tomorrow and there's a chance he could play."
Chelsea will be aiming for a third-straight win in all competitions when they face Leicester City in the Premier League tomorrow.
