'A few weeks away': Mikel Arteta provides injury update on striker
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Eddie Nketiah is a few weeks away from making his return to first-team action.
The 23-year-old was a key player for the Gunners at the beginning of the year and he has been sidelined lately with an ankle injury.
It was initially claimed as a minor one, but Arteta has now revealed that the striker is wearing a boot and won't return before the international break.
He said: "He's getting better. He's still in the boot so still a few weeks away. We need to be patient - it was a nasty injury."
"It's a challenge that Eddie's got ahead of him, but thank God he could have been worse so he's not in a bad place."
Nketiah's injury may not be a big blow for the Gunners, considering Leandro Trossard has excelled from the false nine role in recent games.
The club also have the services of Gabriel Jesus again following a knee surgery. He made a cameo off the bench against Fulham on Sunday.
