Arsenal confident of landing Premier League midfielder?
Arsenal are growing confident of landing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer, according to The Guardian.
The England international has spent his entire playing career with the Hammers but he is expected to move on.
Rice has no plans of penning a new contract with the club and he is likely to be sold when the transfer window reopens.
Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked, but the Gunners are now confident of bringing Rice to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta's side are almost guaranteed a place in the Champions League and this is expected to provide a huge boost.
While Rice has fond memories of playing Chelsea in his academy days, they look likely to miss out on his services this summer.
The Blues are currently 11 points behind the top four. They will need to win the Champions League to re-enter the competition.
It is not completely out of their reach, but considering their performances this campaign, it would be a shock if they win it.
