Man Utd given green light to sign Portuguese striker?
Manchester United have received the green light from manager Erik ten Hag to sign Goncalo Ramos this summer.
The Red Devils are expected to land a marquee striker in the next transfer window and Ramos is one of the main targets.
As per Sport, the club have now received the go-ahead from Ten Hag to sign the Benfica star at the end of the campaign.
Ramos has been in stellar form for his team this season, bagging 25 goals and 10 assists from 37 appearances in all competitions.
Benfica are braced for his exit in the summer, but they are expected to hold out for his current release clause of €120 million.
United are yet to make any contact with the Primeira Liga outfit but could do so when their takeover saga comes to an end.
The Glazers are expected to either sell the club or accept minority investment. This could happen by the end of April.
Instead of activating the release clause in Ramos' deal, United are likely to propose to pay the fee over a period of five years.
