Leeds set £40m price tag for Chelsea transfer target
Leeds United have set their asking price for goalkeeper Illan Meslier amid interest from Chelsea, Football Insider claim.
The Frenchman has been fantastic for the Whites in goal but he is eyeing a bigger challenge this summer.
Chelsea are one of those looking for a new shot-stopper and it is claimed that Meslier is on their wishlist.
However, he won't come on the cheap for them, considering Leeds are expected to demand £40 million.
Manchester United have also been admirers of the 23-year-old, but they are looking at different options.
Brentford's David Raya is apparently the top target for the Red Devils.
If Meslier were to join Chelsea, there is a possibility that Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy could both leave.
The Blues could promote Gabriel Slonina to be the back-up keeper to Meslier for the 2023/24 campaign.
Chelsea are planning for another busy summer, but they may need to cash in on players to boost their spending.
The club are under risk of Financial Fair Play sanctions and will have to recoup funds before new purchases.
