Man Utd ready to battle Arsenal for 24-year-old star
Manchester United are set to compete with Arsenal in the race to land West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
The Red Devils were linked with the England international in the past but nothing materialised beyond the speculation.
However, they could make a genuine effort to land him this summer despite Arsenal making groundwork over a transfer.
The Gunners have been in contact with the player's camp but they seem reluctant to pay the £100m fee set by the Hammers.
United, on the other hand, could be willing to meet the price tag, provided they can recoup part of the funds from player sales.
The Red Devils could also propose a part-exchange deal for the Hammers captain. Harry Maguire could move the other way.
Maguire was on the radar of the east London outfit at the beginning of the year and they could be tempted to sign him this summer.
The England captain has opened the door to leave the Red Devils as he is wary of losing his Euro 2024 spot due to limited game time.
