Chelsea make contact with Serie A club for striker

Chelsea have made contact with Juventus over the potential transfer of Dusan Vlahovic this summer, according to Alfredo Pedulla.

The west London giants are expected to sign a new striker following the sale of Kai Havertz to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Vlahovic has been linked for a number of weeks, and Pedulla claims that the Blues have expressed an interest through intermediaries.

Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has given the approval for a transfer, and the club could proceed with a formal approach very soon.

Juventus currently value their striker in the region of £69 million, but they may need to lower their price amid his inconsistent form.

Vlahovic has just 23 goals over the past 18 months amid form and fitness issues, and they may have to cut their losses on the striker.

Chelsea could be willing to pay £50m for his services after receiving the green light for Pochettino, who wants a marquee striker for next season.

The Blues recently signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, but the Senegal international is likely to play second fiddle from the bench.
