Liverpool make opening bid for Arsenal midfield target
Liverpool have made an opening bid to sign Arsenal target and Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer.
The Merseyside giants have already bought Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, but they are eyeing another young midfielder.
Lavia is the top name on their wishlist and according to The Athletic, the Reds have made an opening proposal.
Jurgen Klopp's side have offered £37 million for the 19-year-old, but the Saints have no plans to sell for that fee.
The South Coast outfit may have suffered relegation from the top-flight, but they are still firm on their price for Lavia.
The Saints want £50m for the Belgian wonderkid, and are reluctant to accept anything less for him this summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the youngster, but they have other priorities at the current point.
The Gunners are unlikely to move for Lavia unless Thomas Partey leaves while Moises Caicedo is the top target for the Blues.
