Arsenal make opening bid to sign Spanish star
Arsenal have made an opening bid to sign Spanish goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford this summer.
The Gunners currently have a quality number one in Aaron Ramsdale, but manager Mikel Arteta is eyeing strong competition for places.
Raya has been on the club's radar for the past three years, and they are now pushing to sign him.
An opening bid of £20m plus £3m has been placed on the table for Raya, who has already agreed personal terms.
The proposal is likely to be rejected by the Bees, but Arsenal are not far off from securing a transfer for him.
Brentford were initially eyeing around £40m for their star shot-stopper, but are now willing to accept much less.
A deal could be finalised for around £30m. Raya has made his mind up to join the Gunners over anyone else.
Bayern Munich are also interested in the former Blackburn man, but Raya is determined to play for the Gunners.
