Tottenham ready to hijack West Ham move for Ward-Prowse
As West Ham's move for midfielder James Ward-Prowse appears to be on ice due to the club's disagreement between sporting director and manager David Moyes, Tottenham are set to enter the race to sign the Southampton midfielder, with a transfer fee of £35 million suggested for the set-piece specialist.
Ward-Prowse had reportedly agreed terms with West Ham, a transfer fee close to being agreed between the Saints and the Hammers, but a last minute internal disagreement put the transfer on hold.
Subsequently, Spurs followed up their early July interest with a renewed offer as club chairman Daniel Levy looks set to spend the majority of his transfer kitty on the acquisition of the midfielder.
Southampton are looking for closer to £40 million to sell their prized asset, but reports suggest a price between £32-34 million will be enough to guarantee a sale.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham in the past, and could setup a brand new midfield alongside former Leicester City star James Maddison at White Hart Lane.
