Poch on Chelsea's defeat at West Ham

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that the Blues need to be more clinical in front of goal following the defeat at West Ham United.

The Blues were trailing during the opening 10 minutes, but managed to pull level through Carney Chukwuemeka before Enzo Fernandez missed a costly penalty.

Michail Antonio made it 2-1 for the Hammers early after the break, but the east London outfit suffered a huge setback with Nayef Aguerd being sent off in the 67th minute.

Despite this, the hosts managed to hold onto the advantage until stoppage time when Moises Caicedo conceded a penalty which was converted by Lucas Paqueta.

Speaking after the 3-1 loss, Pochettino said that he was aware of the set-piece strengths of the Hammers, and added that the club need to be more clinical up front.

He said: "West Ham, we knew they could play in this way. They are good in set-pieces, it is our mistakes and we need to be disappointed with the situation."

"It is the start of the season and it is the process. At the moment we need to be more clinical and score more goals when we create the chances."
