Arsenal suffer double injury blow ahead of Brentford clash
Arsenal have suffered a double injury blow ahead of the Carabao Cup third round tie against Brentford on the road tomorrow.
The Gunners played out a frustrating 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend. Declan Rice was substituted at the break with a back problem.
Speaking during today's press conference, the manager revealed that the pain has not subsided and he is a huge doubt for the upcoming derby in the Carabao Cup.
Arteta added that Rice's compatriot Bukayo Saka is also doubtful for the game as he was limping against Spurs. He needed assistance off the field due to a foot injury.
When asked further about the potential timescale for Saka, Arteta said that the winger could be sidelined for tomorrow's game as well as the Bournemouth trip.
The news is a huge blow for the north London giants, who are already missing Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard with injury concerns.
