Pep Guardiola praises Chelsea star ahead of Sunday's game

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Raheem Sterling ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

Sterling was a hugely influential player during his time with the Cityzens, but he decided to join the Blues during the 2022 summer transfer window.

The Englishman had a difficult debut season with the club, but he has looked a different player this term with several goal contributions to date.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola had fond words to say about the forward and acknowledged his achievements with City.

He said: "He's playing really good. He's back in his best moments from what I've seen recently. What he did here for us in the early years was really really important."

Manchester City are currently one point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table. They will be overwhelming favourites to beat the Blues despite being on the road. They have won the last six meetings against the west London outfit across all competitions.
