Chelsea star confident of signing new contract
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is confident of signing a new long-term contract at the club.
The England international had a disappointing breakthrough season with the Blues last term. There were claims that he could be sold.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United were interested in his services, but Gallagher was reluctant to leave the club.
His decision has proved worthwhile in the current campaign where he has been ever-present in midfield under Mauricio Pochettino.
Gallagher is one of the mainstays in the Argentine's set-up and he is confident of committing his long-term future to the Blues.
He said: "I'm sure that will get sorted out, everyone knows Chelsea is my club and I love playing for them. The fans are brilliant and I'm loving right now and I'm sure it will get itself sorted out."
The 23-year-old's current deal with the club expires at the end of next season and the hierarchy are expected to negotiate with him soon.
He is presently one of the lowest earners at £50,000 per week and should at least treble his wages, considering his fine performances this season.
