Christopher Nkunku to make Chelsea debut this weekend?
French playmaker Christopher Nkunku could make his Chelsea debut during this weekend's Premier League clash at Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old joined the Blues from Leipzig last summer after a fantastic campaign where he scored 23 goals and provided nine assists.
He made an instant impression for the Blues in pre-season, but unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury against Borussia Dortmund.
It was anticipated that he would be sidelined until January at least but he has made a quicker recovery and looks set to make his debut.
Nkunku is set to be involved in team training under Mauricio Pochettino and he could make the bench for the trip to St James' Park.
Pochettino may not start him from the off after a long-term setback and he could be eased into proceedings during the festive schedule.
Nkunku could start in the false number nine role in future. He should replace Nicolas Jackson, who has been unconvincing leading the line.
