'We have to accept reality': Mauricio Pochettino on Man Utd defeat
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his team have to accept the reality after their midweek defeat at Manchester United.
The Blues secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend but they were unable to carry forward the momentum.
They were completely outclassed by United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and were lucky to lose by the margin of just one goal.
Speaking in today's press conference, Pochettino said that the Blues should have nothing to complain and need to accept the reality of the loss.
He said: "We cannot complain. That happened. We have to accept the reality."
The Blues are currently 10th in the league standings with 19 points. They are already 11 points adrift of the final Champions League spot.
Despite the huge £400 million spending spree over the summer, the Blues continue to struggle to keep up with the top-four challengers.
They face a huge test once again on Sunday against Everton. The Toffees registered a convincing 3-0 win over Newcastle last night.
