Raphael Varane set for new Man Utd deal, Martial set for exit

Raphael Varane news

United to offer new deals to first-teamers

Defender Raphael Varane could be set to receive a new contract offer, as Man Utd manager Erik Ten Hag confirms that the Frenchman is still wanted at Old Trafford. Varane had been linked with a surprise departure from United in the January transfer window, but has recently won back his place in the club's first-team side.

Anthony Martial will be allowed to leave, and Hannibal Mejbri will also be given a new deal. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has extended his contract at United.

"We are talking with Varane, with Martial, and we triggered the options on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal," said Erik Ten Hag.

It comes as a surprise, as Varane, who earns a massive £340000 a week at United, could be given a pay rise as Ten Hag looks to lock the central defender down to a new deal.

Anthony Martial, on the other hand, will be allowed to talk to clubs from abroad as he enters the final six months of his deal. It is understood that a move to Spain appeals, with Sevilla Martial's preferred next destination.
