Thilo Kehrer to join Monaco on loan

West Ham's defender Thilo Kehrer will depart the club in January on loan as Monaco appear to have agreed a short-term deal with the Hammers. Despite signing from PSG in the summer of August 2022, Kehrer has failed to impress and the club's hierarchy have opted to let the defender leave on loan.

Kehrer has flown to France to undergo a medical. It is understood that, despite playing in a total of 38 games for the Irons, manager David Moyes did not want to keep the defender and is seeking an alternative in the January transfer window.

Konstantinos Mavropanos has been impressive since forcing his way into the club's first-team, scoring a goal against his former club Arsenal at the end of December.

Meanwhile Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd are the preferred defensive duo at the club.

It is understood that Monaco will pay around 500k euros for the term of the loan deal, and that Kehrer can move to the Principality outfit at the end of the current campaign for a fee of around £10 million.
