Chelsea prepare to trigger release clause of striker

Chelsea are prepared to trigger the release clause of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the campaign.
Osimhen recently signed a new long-term deal with the Serie A champions. In the process, a €120 million release clause was inserted into his contract.
The striker is said to be exploring a move to the Premier League and reports claim that Chelsea are favourites to land his signature next summer.
The west London giants are ready to launch an assault for the marksman and will look to trigger the clause to avoid any protracted negotiations.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is a tough negotiator and Chelsea don't want to get into a muddle trying to negotiate a long-term payment plan.
Arsenal have also been linked with the former Lille man, but they are also looking at other high-profile options including Ivan Toney of Brentford.
Liverpool have also been associated with a move for the Nigerian star, but an approach may depend on whether Mohamed Salah leaves the club.
