Hannibal Mejbri linked with Everton move
Tunisian international midfielder Hannibal Mejbri is on the verge of a move to Everton, as the Toffees have agreed a six month loan deal with the Old Trafford outfit. 20-year-old Mejbri has been desperate for regular first-team football, and despite impressing when called upon, it is understood that his parent club want him to leave to garner more experience at another top flight side.
There is no agreement in place to enable Everton to make this transfer a permanent one, but in signing Mejbri, Toffees' manager Sean Dyche has added some much needed strength to his squad. With the club short of resources and suffering a ten point deduction due to the rules of FFP, Dyche knows that the club can't afford to sign new players in January. Loan deals will have to do.
Mejbri emerged through the ranks at Monaco's youth team before signing for Manchester United for around 10 million euros; with the Red Devils beating Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain to Mejbri's signature. Having appeared eight times for United, Mejbri does have some experience in the starting line-up, but manager Erik Ten Hag can not guarantee week-in-week-out appearances for the midfielder.
