Chelsea to push for at least three transfer deals before end of the window

Mauricio Pochettino news

Chelsea expect to be busy in run up to transfer deadline day

Chelsea are expected to be highly active in the run up to the January transfer window deadline, as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to add further strength in depth to his squad. Amongst the names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Victor Gyokeres, as Chelsea look to sign a new forward after Nicolas Jackson's on/off start to the league season.

The former Coventry striker has caught the eye in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, and is valued already at more than 100 million euros. His current club are eager to keep the player, but understand the Swedish star has ambitions to move back to England at some point in the future.

Karim Benzema is also a name linked with Chelsea, having moved to Al-Ittihad on loan last summer. The Frenchman has yet to play in the Premier League, and it is his ambition to do so before calling time on his career. The striker has also been linked with Chelsea, on a loan move, and is said to be open to committing to this deal before the end of January.

Kyle Walker-Peters is another name linked with the Blues, with the England international defender seeking a move away from Southampton in the January transfer window. Chelsea may have competition here, as other Premier League teams are monitoring the full-back's situation closely.

It is understood that Ousmane Diomande is one more name linked with a transfer to Chelsea, as the Sporting Lisbon centre-back has a minimum fee release clause of around £69 million and Pochettino's side are apparently ready to match that fee. Diomande is seen as one of the most promising players on the world stage.
