Mikel Arteta explains why Gabriel Martinelli is missing vs Brentford
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed the reason behind Gabriel Martinelli's absence against Brentford in the Premier League.
The Gunners are currently on a seven-match winning streak in the top-flight and will be eyeing another victory over the Bees this evening.
Ahead of the derby, Arteta has made two changes. Aaron Ramsdale comes in goal with David Raya ineligible to face his parent club today.
Martinelli is another absentee with Leandro Trossard replacing him.
When asked about his absence, the manager said that he has a cut on his foot and the club are trying to get him back to action.
He said: "Gabby (Gabriel Martinelli) has not made it. Unfortunately he has got a cut on his foot and we are trying to get him back."
Arsenal will go top of the table with a victory over the Bees. They could stay there if Liverpool and Manchester City draw tomorrow.
Hence, there is a huge incentive for the Gunners this evening.
