Serie A star set to undergo Arsenal medical in Los Angeles

Bologna star Riccardo Calafiori will undergo his medical with Arsenal in Los Angeles, according to AFTV.

The Gunners reached an agreement to sign the versatile defender earlier this week and he has now been permitted to complete the formalities.

Instead of travelling to London, the Italian will link up with his new teammates in Los Angeles where they are currently based for pre-season.

Calafiori will undergo his medical over there before signing a five-year deal. The 22-year-old could then feature against Manchester United or Liverpool.

Arsenal are likely to have a busy end to the summer transfer window. After Calafiori, they are eyeing a new midfielder and another wide player.

A marquee striker could also be pursued by the London giants. Mikel Arteta is desperate for more quality in his squad to challenge for the title.

Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly the prime striker target, but the Gunners have not ruled out a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
