Mikel Arteta provides update on Jurrien Timber
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Jurrien Timber was substituted in the second half against Brighton & Hove Albion not because of an injury.
The Dutch international started from the left-back position for the second straight game and he had a solid outing before being replaced by Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Timber had a brief treatment on the field before he was taken off and there were suggestions that he may have picked another potential knee injury.
However, after the game, Arteta clarified that Timber was cramping and he had to be substituted, considering the team were playing with 10 men.
He said in his post-match presser: "No, he was I think cramping. He got a kick in the first half and was cramping so we had to take him off."
Arsenal failed to maintain their 100 percent start to the season after a 1-1 draw versus Brighton. The stalemate was inflicted by Declan Rice's red card.
The Gunners will be aiming to return to winning ways after the international break where they will be away to Tottenham Hotspur.
