Arne Slot provides fresh injury update on Alisson
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided an injury update on goalkeeper Alisson ahead of the Carabao Cup third round tie versus West Ham United.
The Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury recently and he was sidelined for the game against Bournemouth at Anfield.
He has yet to recover from the concern and Slot has confirmed that Caoimhin Kelleher will continue in goal tomorrow.
The Dutchman added that Alisson will be assessed and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit to face Wolves this weekend.
He said: "It’s sure that Caoimhin will be in goal tomorrow. Alisson is getting there but I think this game is coming just a bit too early.
"We are looking at the weekend against Wolves but it’s going to be tight so let’s see if he manages to be there, but he will not be there tomorrow."
Liverpool have had a good start under their new manager and their only blemish came up against Nottingham Forest where they lost 1-0 at home.
They should be favourites to beat the Hammers at Anfield tomorrow. The London outfit have looked vulnerable in the defensive scheme of things.
