Enzo Maresca praises Chelsea attacker after Forest draw
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca heaped praise on Noni Madueke following the 1-1 Premier League draw against Nottingham Forest yesterday.
The Blues continued their good Premier League form with a 1-1 draw against Forest. Chris Wood opened the scoring for the visitors at Stamford Bridge, but the London giants pulled level through Noni Madueke.
James Ward-Prowse's sending off handed a huge advantage to the Blues, but they were unable to find the winning goal due to the goalkeeping heroics of Matz Sels.
Robert Sanchez also had a fine afternoon on the opposite end and he made a crucial save in the dying seconds of stoppage time to ensure that Chelsea picked up a point.
Speaking after the game, Maresca said that he was very happy for Madueke, who managed to return to scoring ways after an extended gap, he said: "Very happy for Noni.
"During the week, I told him that he scored three goals against Wolves and then he stopped scoring. Today, he scored. Probably [that was why he celebrated the way he did], yes."
With the stalemate, Chelsea remain fourth in the league table with 14 points on the board. They are currently three points behind leaders Liverpool, who they face at Anfield next.
