Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal injury blow before Newcastle game
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a fresh injury blow ahead of the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners recently suffered a setback with a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. They were unlucky to share the spoils after the Seagulls received a controversial penalty.
In the same game, Ethan Nwaneri was substituted at the half-time interval with a muscular injury and speaking in today's presser, the manager confirmed the setback for the 17-year-old.
The Gunners boss added that the teenager could be sidelined for the next few weeks, but did not provide an exact timeline for his return to action.
The teenager's absence is another setback for the Gunners, who are already missing Bukayo Saka's presence on the right wing with a hamstring issue.
Gabriel Martinelli replaced Nwaneri at the half-time interval against the Seagulls and he could start on the right flank against the Magpies.
