AC Milan are increasingly confident that a deal to sign Marcus Rashford from Man Utd will be possible this January transfer window, as Rashford's representatives have been in Italy discussing a deal with Milan club executives. Rashford has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford and is not required by newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim.

United want to free up a space in their squad for a new signing, and Rashford has been informed that he can leave on a loan deal. Barcelona had been interested in Rashford, and long-term admirers Paris St Germain could also make a late move for the England international.

Rashford is known to prefer staying in England, but as of yet Man Utd have not received any offers for the forward.

Graham Potter, who has just been appointed West Ham coach, had been asked yesterday if the Hammers would make a move for Rashford and did not rule out a potential loan move for the striker.

However, Milan are firmly in pole position to secure a move for Rashford, and the Englishman is likely to be at a new club before the end of January.
