Abdukodir Khusanov to join Man City
Manchester City are to complete a deal to sign Lens' defender Abdukodir Khusanov in a transfer package worth a reported £37 million. The central defender will be the first Uzbekistan international to play in the Premier League, and his arrival in England comes only 18 months after moving to France to Lens from Energetik-BGU.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola is widely expected to be busy during the current January transfer window, and has been given a reported £70 million to spend on fresh faces. A large chunk of that money shall be spent on signing 20-year-old Khusanov. The player has appeared in 13 Ligue 1 games this season already and will represent a huge profit for the player that Lens signed in a deal worth only £100,000 18 months ago.
A tough tackling centre-back, it is hoped that the Uzbek star will replace Ruben Dias at the heart of City's defence for many years to come, and City appear to have beaten Real Madrid in completing a move for the Lens defender.
