Man Utd want to replace Andre Onana with Spanish star?

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia ahead of Arsenal this summer, according to Sport.

The Red Devils have relied on Onana as the first-choice goalkeeper for the last two years, but the Cameroonian has been prone to defensive errors.

Onana's future has come into question as a result and Sport claim that United have sounded out interest in signing Garcia from Espanyol this summer.

Garcia was touted to join the Gunners at the start of the campaign, but their €20 million proposal was turned down before the transfer deadline.

Espanyol were reluctant to sell him for less than his €30m release clause, considering they barely had time to pursue a suitable replacement.

However, the La Liga outfit are willing to offload him for €20m later this year. United could provide serious competition to Mikel Arteta's side.

Arsenal view him as a back-up to David Raya. United could beat them in the race by guaranteeing a starting role for the talented Spaniard.
