Chelsea eyeing free transfer for 25-goal striker?

Chelsea are considering a contract offer for Lille striker Jonathan David whose deal expires at the end of the season, as per Fichajes.
The west London giants are expected to pursue a new striker ahead of next season and they have recently been linked with Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.
However, the club continue to be linked with alternative options and they are now interested in signing David on a free transfer agreement.
The Canadian star has provided 25 goals and 11 assists for Lille this term. He had a brilliant Champions League campaign with them.
The 25-year-old's reputation has increased as a result and it remains to be seen whether the Blues can win the race for his services on a free.
A number of European clubs are also monitoring him. In England, West Ham United and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest.
David is expected to assess his future after the Ligue 1 season ends.
