Arsenal set aside £64m to sign 26-year-old striker
Arsenal are prepared to spend £64 million to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the campaign, as per A Bola.
The Gunners are planning for a busy summer transfer window and they are expected to make multiple signings to challenge for trophies next season.
A new marksman is one of the top priorities for the club and reports claim that the club's hierarchy have already agreed personal terms with Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has also been convinced by the project under manager Mikel Arteta and he is prepared to join the Gunners in the next transfer window.
Arsenal are prepared to pay around £64m and believe the fee will be sufficient to prise the striker away from the Portuguese champions.
There is a release clause worth £84m in the striker's deal, but he reportedly has a gentleman's agreement to leave for a discounted transfer figure.
Chelsea are also admirers of the former Coventry City striker, but the 26-year-old is expected to prioritise a move to their London rivals.
