Tottenham make move for Marc Casado
Tottenham are in the mix to sign Spanish defensive midfielder Marc Casado before the transfer window slams shut, as Barcelona appear to be ready to let the 21-year-old leave for a fee of 20 million euros. Casado is amongst the best up and coming midfielders in Spain, but a lack of first-team football could persuade the player to leave.
Spanish publication Sport reports that an opening 20 million euro offer will come from Spurs, who are seeking defensive midfield reinforcements. Casado, capped twice by Spain, is top of Thomas Frank's transfer wish list for the remainder of the transfer window. Last season Casado really made the step up, appearing 23 times in La Liga, scoring one goal and providing a point of interest for Hansi Flick, the Barca boss.
Tottenham have plenty of cash to spend as the guarantee of Champions League football emerges, and have already spent big to sign Mohamed Kudus this summer, as well as Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai and Joao Palhinha.
It is understood that the signing of Casado will likely conclude the club's transfer business, after supposedly missing out on Rodrygo, who today indicated that he would like to stay at Real Madrid.
