Man City boss Guardiola expects departures
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is planning to sell some of his first-team squad as the transfer window draws to a close. The Etihad Stadium outfit have been linked with a transfer deadline day for Gianluigi Donnarumma, but City must sell before they can buy.
Ederson could be departing the Premier League giants before the window closes, Savinho looks likely to stay, whilst James McAtee has just departed the club. There will likely be some more exits before the September 1st deadline.
Guardiola said: "We have too much, too many people. I like a deep squad to compete in all competitions, but I don't want to leave players at home. It's not healthy. You cannot create a good vibe or atmosphere to compete.
"Everyone has to feel they can play and help. The club has known it since last season, it's not news, but the situation is what it is.
"In the next two weeks, people will talk with players and agents to find a solution."
City won 4-0 in their opening Premier League game against Wolves.
