Owen left out!

Newcastle United striker Micheal Owen once again left out of Fabio Capello's England squad for the world cup qualifiers.

The England boss, Fabio Capello, has left Owen from his squad who will play Kazakhstan and Belarus for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Micheal Owen remains England's leading goal scorer with 40 goals, and has been in good form for the sinking Newcastle, scoring three times in six matches.

It seems that Capello wants his strikers to do more than just score goals, when asked about Owen's omission he responded by saying, "A player has to do more than just score goals. To not play for 89 minutes and then score a goal is not enough.”

The Italian manager had omitted Owen in the matches against Andorra and Crotia, claiming him not match-fit.

The surprise call was for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch who found his name in the list.

Steven Gerrard has returned to the sqaud after injury, Joe Cole has been removed after he picked up an injury against Aston Villa last sunday.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has been rewarded for his fine form since returning to Manchestery City and he makes the cut.
