Manchester United is set to break the transfer fee record by offering £63m for Franck Ribery. The offer has been already made, but the sources from Manchester say that the deal depends on Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid.

Sir Alex Ferguson could shatter the transfer fee charts if the Ribery deal happens, breaking the previous record fee of £43.7m for Zinedine Zidane. The £63m offer sounds too good to be true, but, sources in Munich has confirmed that the bid has been received. Ribery had been wanting to leave Germany to play in a more competitive league.

The 26-year old French earns £134,000 per week in Bayern Munich, and is the most valuable player in the Allianz Arena. The latest reports say that the German club have turned down the £63m bid. But, the initial bid might just be a start before the serious negotiations start.

Although Manchester United has enough money to lure the France international to Old Trafford, it depends on Cristiano Ronaldo and his move to Real Madrid. If the deal happens, Ribery would replace Ronaldo in playing terms as well as the weekly wage terms.

Bayern Munich signed Ribery for £19m plus bonus and has his contract till the end of 2011 season. Recently, he had announced that he won't be in the club for too long and have been a contract rebel.
