Who would sign Joey Barton ?

"Joey, Joey, Joey, why are you such an angry young man?" is what the football fans ask bad boy Joey Barton. With such a worse disciplinary record, it seems that no one wants to sign poor Joey. Or is there someone ?

Any manager who even consider to sign Joey Barton is a new definition of desperation says Mirror's Calvin. He seems to be right, no other player has such a bad reputation on and off the field. Newcastle's old boss Sam Allardyce replaced a 'violent' Scott Parker with Barton a few seasons ago.

Will he do that again? Calvin calls him the 'beacon of enlightment'! And he is right to say that if Big Sam signs Barton again, he will blow his credibility as a manager.

Forget Sam! The latest news says that Bolton manager Gary Megson might sign Barton this summer. Megson had tried to snap him up in the January transfer window with a £2m bid, which was turned down by Newcastle United. Now, as Alan Shearer has suspended Barton indefinitely, he would be a cheap buy.

Megson's take on the horrific tackles and the issues concerning Barton is, "There are obviously issues but he does play his football for somebody else so we need to respect that."
