Obafemi Martins to Arsenal?

Arsenal could replace Emmanuel Adebayor with Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins. A cut-price deal could be pushed through for the Nigerian international forward, should fellow African Adebayor quit the club as expected.

Martins is valued by Newcastle in the region of £12 million, but the Toon would allow the player to leave for as little as £9 million, according to reports from the North East.

Other replacements suggested for Adebayor inlude Bordeaux striker Chamakh, but it is believed Arsene Wenger would prefer to sign a proven Premiership goalscorer as opposed to taking a risk on Chamakh.
