Arsene Wenger gives crucial injury update ahead of Everton clash
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club could be without the services of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Laurent Koscielny when they face Everton in the final game of the league campaign.
The Gunners have been out of the top-four reckoning over the past few months and their prospects of finishing in the Champions League position look slim unless Liverpool lose it in the curtain-closer.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had been ruled out with a hamstring problem in the 4-1 mauling of Stoke City, and it appears that he may have to wait an additional week in order to recover from his issue.
Meanwhile, skipper Laurent Koscielny is still nursing a calf problem, and he is a doubtful starter for the weekend clash against Everton.
Aaron Ramsey also sustained a knock in the previous game against Sunderland but he appears to be in contention to start alongside Granit Xhaka in midfield.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain is not back and we have an uncertainty over whether Koscielny will be available or not. He will have a test today and tomorrow and then I will make the decision. Aaron Ramsey is alright,” he told the club's official website.
Arsenal face off against London rivals Chelsea in the FA Cup later this month, and Wenger is likely to keep his cards with 'The Ox' a likely candidate to feature.
