Pep Guardiola praises Sergio Aguero after 300th game

Pep Guardiola has described Sergio Aguero as a legend after his 300th game for Manchester City which came against Cardiff City on Saturday.

Sergio Aguero scored the opening goal of the game as the Premier League champions ran out 5-0 winners over Cardiff.

The goal against Neil Warnock's side is his 205th goal for City since he joined the club in 2011.

"He is an authentic legend," Guardiola told Sky Sports. "It's important what he has done at this club and hopefully we will have him for longer and he stays in a good position."

Last Friday, it was reported that the Argentine international extended his Manchester City contract by a year, keeping him at the club until 2021.

Since his move to City, he has won three Premier League trophies and three English League Cups.

After playing major roles in City winning trophies, he is expected to do more as City bid to win the title they have been craving in recent years, the UEFA Champions League.

Their campaign this season has started on a bad note after losing their opening game against French side Lyon by two goals to one.
